Hi everyone! Was just reading an obscure but delightful little book entitled God Exists, by Reverend Raymond Smith, O.P., Ph.D. , copyright 1959. He goes through the various proofs for God’s existence and he just did the “angelic doctor’s” (Aquinas’) proof from motion. I was struck by the tautologousness (trueness by definition) of the premises. Of course if there is no first mover there is no intermediate mover. Intermediate just means between the first and the last. And if no intermediate movers, then no ultimate motion. Oh No! God must exist.
Luckily, it doesn’t matter whether this or any other proof works, because I know that God exists anyway, because he has reminded me of my sins. Fewer and fewer I hope as I get older. I was lost in my youth because I didn’t believe in God. Yay! Now I believe.
I worked on my C.V. and cover letter, and submitted them for the open Philosophy positions. I have to try to get the old computer going to get my unofficial transcripts. But plenty of time this time for the Fall 2024 semester.
My room is starting to look somewhat messy. I need a new couch, new end tables, new lamps, and 2 new bookcases in the living room where Doug is. Doug is not a bad bloke, just overworked, like the cleaning lady at Tri-C who is so nice but is definitely overworked too.
I hope everyone is doing well and I look forward to hearing from some of you in the New Year.

Yes, those Dominicans are excellent preachers/teachers. Uncle Harry and I both come from strong Dominican backgrounds. BTW everyone sins after all we’re human. Thank you for your Epiphany thoughts!
Yes, I thought O.P. stood for Order of Preachers which is Dominican. Sister Mary Bernard Curran was a Dominican too. You’re welcome for the Epiphany thoughts.
