Hello folks! It is a beautiful summer day and I spent it all indoors in the lovely air conditioning. I played some piano, and tried to do my music theory, but apparently I am not very good at music theory! It is hard.
On to philosophy! I am looking forward to teaching Anselm’s ontological argument, Aquinas’ 5 ways, a fine-tuning scientific argument for the existence of God, and so on. We will do the problem of evil, the problem of divine hiddenness (that God makes himself more or less scarce and doesn’t appear in the clouds), and the phenomenon of miracles. I only have one person in my class so far, am hoping for more.
Roscoe is doing well everyone! He stocks the milk and eggs at his job. He is a dear and what a great thing I finally did when I had him! That was the best way to spend my time in my early forties–running around with him and taking pictures that I now enjoy on a daily basis “On this day” 15 years ago, and so on.
I don’t buy many books nowadays and use the library instead, but I did buy a $5 copy of C. S. Lewis’s Mere Christianity, because it has a moral argument for the existence of God.
I saw a camera on Amazon with 25x optical zoom, used for only $49. Don’t know whether to get it or not. It’s a Kodak.
The Cleveland Guardians are doing spectacularly with 50 wins and only 26 losses so far. Looking forward to my Montana trip still. Aunt Jeanne and Uncle Harry, how are you doing?
So long, folks. Enjoy the beautiful summer.

What a lovely post! You’re a very busy woman these days. You’re going to have a wonderful time in Montana – one of my favorite places in the US. Uncle Harry and I are doing well and look forward to seeing you this fall. Love to you and the rest of the clan.
Dear Aunt Jeanne, Uncle Harry, and Brynn,
Thank you for writing! I am looking forward to Montana and to seeing you this fall. Love to all of you. Debbie
