Pre-Thanksgiving

It is great to be in the weekend before Thanksgiving, doing schoolwork, etc. I wrote a song about Gommy our grandmother, and because we were assigned to do a genre we don’t normally do, I selected hard rock or heavy metal, and the hook of the song is, “Her name was Gommy,” and “Gommy was her name.” And I go on from there. In a couple of weeks it will be on this website. Check back for the entire song. I just got an idea that there can be a hard rock and a soft rock version of the same song, like the Beatles’ Revolution. That’s what I’ll do for the Gommy song.

I went to a piano recital by a woman Meghan Denham, who played works by all women composers and it was great, and the highlight was a bunch of nocturnes from the collection 22 Nocturnes for Chopin by Women Composers, a collection that was just published in August 2023 (a few months ago). Josh my piano teacher said he would bring in the collection for me. The nocturnes sounded just like Chopin in my opinion.

Roscoe has been promoted to working 3 days a week at Giant Eagle, which is great. He and his dad are watching the Browns vs. the Steelers on TV right now.

I am taking two lessons with Melody, a nice woman from our Class Voice class, who teaches violin. I’m excited. Then I’m going to take lessons from the college in violin next semester along with piano.

I missed church today and slept till 1:30, just exhausted. I am getting ready for my gig on December 5th, and played two hours solid last night before going to bed.

Life is fun!
